Bestival

Okay so I'd be lying if I said I wasn't struggling right now with one mighty, hefty cold thanks to Bestival... but this doesn't mean to say I didn't have the BEST time with my favourite ones!

Firstly I just want to say what an amazing 4 days that was! When you have the right company with you, the line ups good and the weather stays pleasant you can't fail to have a good time.  One of the best things about festivals is that everyone around you is so happy and friendly, we had many happy campers on our camp site that we grew so close with.

As the theme was Desert Island Disco I tried to combine a few of my outfits to fit the theme. As I don't have a whole lot of dollar at the moment I tried to recycle as much from my wardrobe as possible! The Saturday night was actually the night where everyone went all out and dressed via the theme but we wore glitter most days anyways! So that evening I decided to go for the roller disco look, as it was disco theme we thought why not make a disco ball bra?! All you need is super glue and mirror mosaic pieces it was so much fun to make but is very heavy when wearing it so loves to play a good game of peek a boo to strangers! - unfortunately I couldn't wear skates though, that would've been massively awkward but soo much fun! They should've done a skating hall - they had everything else there, why not a skating hall?! The last evening I kept it more of a casual look but still added glitter to the face! Then the other nights I tried to combine tropical prints, glitter and face paint!

I tried not to go tacky with dressing up yet I tried to make it stylish at the same time but when you have a low budget like mine there isn't a whole lot of choice! Unfortunately I don't have snaps of all of my outfits as it felt like I hardly had battery the whole time, they had phone charging services but they were very pricey!! I so wish I took better pics and made more effort to capture the moment, but now I know for next time.

The highlight of my weekend has to be... Sam Smith. I know that sounds very cliche but he really was utterly incredible. Effortless singing and made everyone so happy, you could tell he was enjoying the moment just as much as we were! I think when you're appreciating an act like that and you look around to see your friends loving life too, it makes you 1000X happier. It's a pretty good feeling. Look up Sam Smith in the live lounge on YouTube ... amazing stuff.

Most of these snaps have been on Instagram as you can probably tell that's why the filters are all over the show! These are only a few that I took. Instagram - @wornandwritten

Here are my top tips for a camping festival:

  • Buy as much food as you can for Breakfast and lunch - food is soo expensive!
  • Say no to your mums old air bead that's been in the loft for years - get a new one, it'll be SO worth it.
  • Stove with pots and pans - take a sponge to wash up
  • Babywipes - if you don't have the patience to line up in the shower que for hours on end.
  • Drink as much water as you can, then you probably won't feel how I'm feeling right now!
  • Hoody for bed as it gets bloody freezing in the evenings!!
  • Don't forget your shoes!! I definitely forgot mine and definitely regretted it.
  • Delete as much as you can on your phone for loads of pics your about take! Nothings more disheartening than the 'Storage full' pop up in the middle of Disclosure.
  • Packs of tissues for those beautiful portaloos that very kindly run out of toilet roll 5 minutes in to the night when your bursting for a wee!
There's probably a whole lot more but that's as much as I can think of right now! But hey it's all part of the experience!

Got any camping tips? Let me know!
