As we got on our flight to Austria, the sun rose before our eyes at 7:20AM. With a bunch of bridal magazines to keep me occupied and finally getting some wedding planning done, we arrived in Salzburg in next to no time at all.
Considering it being my first time skiing my first day on the slopes didn't go too badly! Don't get me wrong I was well and truly useless at first however being SO determined and wanting to catch up with the others (baring in mind there was 20+ of us!) I managed to get the hang of it quicker than I thought. Which just goes to show with a little determination you can do just about anything!
All of the holidays I have been on in the past were sky high temperatures, with my suitcase bursting with bikinis and sandals, waiting for that humidity to hit you in the face when getting off the aircraft! Never had I been away without packing a single swimsuit! There's a first for everything and this was my very first time in a country where temperatures were below freezing and which there was an activity I could get my mitts stuck right in to. It's safe to say I didn't show much skin at all in -13 conditions! Though I love my fashion and experimenting with different styles, keeping warm was my main priority this hols and now I know just what to expect I can definitely play around with ski styles for next year without looking 2 stone heavier haha!

When people would ask me if I was looking forward to this holiday, the answer was pretty much "yeah I think so!" only because I had no idea what to expect. I'd never been skiing before nor had I experienced that sort of climate/lifestyle before. I'm very much of a curious person when it comes to visiting different countries and cultures, taking every opportunity possible to see more and more of the world. Since visiting Austria I have been completely blown away with the experience, now having the bug for skiing that it has become an annual trip for us all!
When I spent my first day learning how to ski with determination to get my basics right it helped my improvement and progression such a lot, if you've got the right mind set on you can do it little bit by little bit. It certainly helped me enjoy it a lot more thats for sure! After a lot of practicing as the days went on I was not ready to come home whatsoever...
To say the very least, Austria is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful countries I have ever visited, I found it very hard to resist getting my camera out. If there's a moment that takes my breath away, the snapper is coming out! Whether it was on a T-Bar, chair lift, down the slopes or simply in the middle of the piste. Take my camera away from me and I would've probably spent a lot less time getting down the slopes!!
By drinking plenty of Gluhweines, Radlers and hot chocolates before during and after skiing, made it very hard not to enjoy the whole week. You kind of needed it from skiing 8 hours a day... and as you can probably tell, the week absolutely flew by and nobody likes that part of a holiday *sobs*.

So if you'd ask me, "Would you recommend Austria?" or even "Would you recommend a week of skiing"?
My answer would be abso-friggin-loutely!! 👍
